Tea Knowledge - Do you know all the little knowledge about daily tea drinking?

A piece of tea leaf has a history of thousands of years, witnessing the development of mankind and incubating a brilliant tea culture. To this day, tea is still loved by countless people and cannot be separated from it for a day. However, although tea is good, it also needs to be consumed in moderation.

The "Chinese Herbal Manual" records that "drinking tea should be hot, while drinking tea cold will gather phlegm...drinking tea after thirst or drinking alcohol will cause water to enter the kidney meridian, causing cold pain in the waist, feet, and bladder, and edema, cramps, and other diseases... it is most taboo to drink tea on an empty stomach."

So what should we pay attention to when drinking tea in daily life?

• Drinking tea ≠ drinking water

Some people say "drinking tea is also water, drinking water is also water, so isn't it better to drink tea directly?" In fact, it is not. The reason why drinking tea is good is that tea contains rich minerals, such as potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, etc., as well as a large amount of amino acids, alkaloids, tea polyphenols, organic acids and other organic substances.

Drinking tea in moderation every day can supplement the minerals needed by the human body, reduce blood acidity, promote blood circulation, and balance human body functions.

However, precisely because tea is rich in ingredients, when we drink tea, the body will release water in the blood to dilute these ingredients for human body absorption. If tea is used instead of water, excessive tea drinking will cause blood dehydration. In addition, the caffeine in tea has a diuretic effect. Under the dual effects, the problem of dehydration in the human body will gradually form, which is not good.

At the same time, excessive tea drinking not only increases the burden on the kidneys and is prone to insomnia, but also excessive intake of tea polyphenols will irritate the stomach, causing discomfort, turning a good thing into a bad thing.

• Tea drinking temperature

When drinking tea daily, the most suitable temperature for tea soup is 40~50℃, or in Chinese medicine, it is neither cold nor hot, and "warm" is the most suitable.

Some people like to drink hot tea, claiming that "tea can only be tasted while it is hot", which is not a good habit. The temperature of freshly brewed tea is 80~90℃. Even if you blow it slightly, the excessively high water temperature is likely to burn the oral cavity, throat and esophageal mucosa.

On the contrary, if the temperature of tea water is too low, the tea soup is easy to oxidize, which has adverse effects on people with weak stomach and spleen, such as phlegm accumulation and spleen and stomach damage, and will also have side effects on the mouth, throat, and intestines.

Especially for cold tea that has been cooled for one or two hours, the tea soup is oxidized, has no fragrance, and has a bitter taste, which has a cold effect on the body.

• Pay attention to drinking tea before and after meals

Drinking tea before meals is most likely to happen on an empty stomach, especially after getting up early, because tea contains more tannic acid, which has a convergent effect and can easily cause constipation; theophylline can easily stimulate the stomach and intestines, causing loss of appetite, gastrointestinal discomfort and other symptoms.

And an empty stomach can easily make the intestines absorb too much caffeine and other alkaloids in tea, which can cause people to have symptoms of "tea drunkenness" such as panic, dizziness, and weakness in hands and feet, further affecting physical health. Therefore, you can drink tea with some snacks, and use it occasionally, which is both healthy and more elegant.

Drinking tea immediately after a meal will reduce the absorption of iron. If the food is rich in phosphorus and calcium, it will combine with the oxalate ions in the tea, which is not easy to be excreted from the body and is prone to stones. It is best to drink tea at least half an hour after a meal to help digestion.

Whether it is mentally or physically, the benefits of drinking tea have long been understood by the world after thousands of years of transmission.

We should drink tea appropriately and healthily to realize the true health-preserving effect of Chinese tea drinking.
