On July 15, according to media reports, NVIDIA has obtained US approval to resume sales of H20 in China and launch a new and fully compatible GPU for the Chinese market.

NVIDIA announced the news on its official website. NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said that NVIDIA is submitting an application to resell H20 GPU. The US government has assured NVIDIA that a license will be granted, and NVIDIA hopes to start delivery as soon as possible. At the same time, Jensen Huang announced the launch of a new and fully compatible NVIDIA RTX PRO GPU, saying that the product is "ideal for building digital twins A for smart factories and logistics."

On the same day, Jensen Huang also announced this important progress in an interview with CCTV, "The US government has approved our export license and we can start shipping, so we will start selling H20 to the Chinese market. I am very much looking forward to shipping H20 soon, and I am very happy about this. This is really very, very good news."

Jensen Huang also told the media: "The Chinese market is large, dynamic and innovative, and it is also a gathering place for many artificial intelligence researchers. Therefore, it is indeed crucial for American companies to take root in the Chinese market."

Affected by the positive news, Nvidia's night trading rose by more than 2%. In the A-share market, on the morning of July 15, the CSI Artificial Intelligence Theme Index rose strongly by 3.17%, and the AI Artificial Intelligence ETF rose by 2.99%, hitting a three-day winning streak. Nvidia concepts also performed actively, with Tianfu Communication and Shenghong Technology rising by more than 10%, followed by China Electronics Port, Jingwang Electronics, Advanced Digital Communications, and Inspur Information.

It is reported that the H20 graphics card is the most powerful of the three graphics cards developed by Nvidia for the Chinese market. But the computing power of H20 will be lower than that of Nvidia's flagship H100 AI chip and Nvidia's previous H800 for the Chinese market.

Since 2022, the US government has imposed strict restrictions on the export of advanced Nvidia chips to China, and has since increased the restrictions several times. H20 is an AI accelerator designed specifically for the Chinese market to comply with US export restrictions. In April this year, the United States introduced new control measures on the export of Chinese AI chips, resulting in Nvidia's H20 chips, which were specially supplied to China, being unable to continue to be sold in China.

Jensen Huang will attend the opening ceremony of the 3rd China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo on July 16 and participate in related activities. This is also Jensen Huang's third visit to China this year.

During this visit, Jensen Huang pointed out that the world has reached an inflection point - AI has become a basic resource, just like energy, water and the Internet. Jensen Huang emphasized that Nvidia is committed to supporting open source research, basic models and application development to achieve the popularization of AI.

In January this year, Jensen Huang made a week-long trip to China, appearing in Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai and other places, attending the company's annual meeting, and distributing red envelopes to employees, showing his attention to the Chinese team.

Three months later, on April 17, according to China Central Television News, Jensen Huang visited Beijing again and held talks with Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Jensen Huang said in the talks that China is a very important market for Nvidia and hopes to continue to cooperate with China.

Nvidia's market value recently exceeded $4 trillion, becoming the first company to exceed $4 trillion in market value. The company's stock price has risen 22% this year, and this rise has increased its valuation by about $700 billion.
