Last week, the 2025 Paris Haute Couture Week closed. From Demna's farewell work at Balenciaga to Glenn Martens' new appearance at Maison Margiela, this Haute Couture Week is full of highlights.
Below, we will select the most representative shows to share with you this top fashion festival.
◆ CHANEL
In 1918, Ms. Chanel moved the brand's haute couture workshop and private residence to 31 rue Cambon in Paris, which has since become CHANEL's eternal source of inspiration.
The 2025/26 Fall/Winter Haute Couture Collection once again focuses on this, restoring the classic furnishings of 31 Rue Cambon on the runway, while also paying tribute to the unique Scottish scenery in Ms. Chanel's mind with natural tones such as cream, ivory, black, brown, and green.
As Ms. Chanel's favorite aesthetic symbol, the wheat ear element runs through the entire season's design. It has transformed into feathers, embroidery, beads, fabric textures, etc., and inadvertently played a hymn to the harmony of nature.
At the end of the show, the closing model held a golden wheat ear. It symbolizes harvest, symbolizes rebirth, and perhaps also symbolizes a brand new CHANEL that will be led by Matthieu Blazy.
◆ Maison Margiela
When models wearing different masks appeared one by one, time seemed to have returned to the moment when Martin Margiela first shocked the fashion world. Some people say that Maison Margiela 2025 Artisanal Haute Couture Collection is a bit "overdoing it", but no one can deny that it is an absolute visual feast.
Flemish hand-painted reliefs from the 16th century and Dutch medieval architecture and paintings are written into new poems, interpreting Glenn Martens' new interpretation of Maison Margiela.
Since its birth in 2006, the Artisanal series has been characterized by the reuse of antique clothing and recycled materials. The flattened metal has become a gorgeous mask; transparent plastic has been reinterpreted as Tabi split-toe boots; recycled jewelry has been strung into a dress that cannot be reproduced...
The huge dresses exuding metallic luster are fascinating at first sight. They seem to come from medieval icons, and like sculptures excavated from future archaeological sites, full of contradictions between history and avant-garde.
◆ BALENCIAGA
After ten years in charge of the brand, Demna finally ushered in his farewell work at BALENCIAGA. The 54th season of haute couture perfectly blends luxury and daily life, with items including sneakers, briefcases, nightgowns, etc., expressing and elevating the boundary between function and aesthetics in a new way.
Demna's signature style is also present. From loose silhouette coats and exaggerated shoulder lines to tights and street-style jackets in contrast, they are all representative works of his dystopian design.
In addition, Demna also explored the elegant side of Balenciaga in this farewell work. The exquisite dress cut combined with the architectural silhouette can't help but remind people of the "golden age" of Hollywood.
After all the designs were unveiled, Demna broke his personal tradition and bowed in his signature hoodie. This scene is not only full of humanistic meaning, but also a perfect echo of "luxury and daily life".
◆ Elie Saab
If the previous brands are trying to break the public's inherent perception of "haute couture", then Elie Saab must be the one who is loyal to tradition but willing to create surprises.
With the theme of "New Palace", Elie Saab's 2025 Fall/Winter Haute Couture Collection once again outlines a gorgeous and splendid fantasy. Soft tones such as rose pink, aqua blue, and mint appear alternately; light organza and chiffon are graceful with the steps, and the designer writes the ultimate romance in the most straightforward and passionate way.
This romance is not just piled up. The moderate three-dimensional embroidery and crystal bows are eye-catching. The lines full of tension also make the blank space in the details reasonable. The gorgeousness full of breath makes these designs neither clumsy nor clichéd.
In Elie Saab, we can always see the purest "haute couture".
◆ DIOR
Recently, Dior presented the new DIOR AND LEWIS HAMILTON limited edition series. The series reflects the unique understanding of lifestyle by Lewis Hamilton, the guest designer of the series, Dior brand ambassador, and seven-time F1 world champion.
The new limited edition series boldly combines performance, courage and luxury, exquisitely balancing the surging power of racing and the elegant charm of exquisite craftsmanship, highlighting the craftsmanship in the field of sustainable fashion.
From tailored styles to casual styles, from traditional craftsmanship to innovative skills, from dramatic style to restrained demeanor, this series is eclectic, integrating African futuristic aesthetics with Dior brand heritage to build a world beyond self.
◆ KENZO
The joint collaboration series between KENZO and legendary artist Futura 2000 debuted at the KENZO 2025 Fall/Winter Men's Fashion Show. The series combines KENZO's iconic elements with Futura's pioneering graffiti art aesthetics, leaving a vivid first impression on the 2025 Fall/Winter show.
In the collaboration, Futura 2000 reinterpreted two iconic elements of KENZO: Boke Flower and KENZO Paris logo.
The artist injected urban visual language into it, giving Boke Flower a new vitality, full of dynamism and edge; while the KENZO Paris logo was reshaped in a rough graffiti style, ultimately presenting a bold collision of tradition and rebellion.
The core items of the series include printed knitwear and high-end knitwear, windbreakers and coach jackets, inspired by NIGO's wardrobe style, emphasizing the essence of the series' mix and match fusion.
◆ MISS SIXTY
As the founder of female jeans, Italian denim fashion brand MISS SIXTY released a new autumn advertising blockbuster performed by global spokesperson and international supermodel Bella Hadid.
The creative inspiration of this blockbuster comes from the classic work "Happy Victims" by the famous Japanese photography master Kyoichi Tsuzuki. At the same time, it abandons the current popular over-modified filter aesthetic style, allowing people to recall the time when they were alone in their bedrooms when they were young and full of whimsical ideas and not disturbed by the outside world.
To meet the enthusiasm of modern young people for retro aesthetics, the new retro style continues the retro design elements and fabrics, combines modern tailoring, and creates a new item with texture.
